As a rheumatologist at 91����Ƶ Langone, I am committed to delivering thorough and empathetic care to my patients. I find immense satisfaction in relieving pain and helping individuals return to active, productive lives. In my role as section head of rheumatology in the Division of Rheumatology, Allergy, and Immunology at 91����Ƶ Langone, I ensure that our team delivers the highest quality care for seamless patient experiences.

I treat a wide range of rheumatologic conditions, with a focus on giant cell arteritis, polymyalgia rheumatica, and other forms of systemic vasculitis. With over 30 years’ experience as a rheumatologist, I have developed a deep understanding of these complex conditions. My commitment to patient education and shared decision-making ensures that my patients are well-informed and actively involved in their treatment plans. I prioritize clear, direct communication and meticulous attention to detail in the diagnostic process.

I have been involved in significant research that has directly benefited my patients. One of my most interesting projects involved studying atypical findings on temporal artery biopsies in patients suspected of having giant cell arteritis, in collaboration with colleagues in the Department of Pathology. Currently, I am working with radiology colleagues to investigate the incidence, significance, and outcomes of aortitis seen on various imaging modalities. This research helps us better understand and treat these conditions, ultimately improving patient outcomes.

I am honored to be a Castle Connolly “Top Doctor” for 25 years and an “Exceptional Woman in Medicine” since 2019. In addition to my clinical and research interests, I also help to educate future physicians and serve as the program director of the Rheumatology Fellowship Program and a course director at 91����Ƶ Grossman Long Island School of Medicine.
